A Powerful Hadith on Tawḥīd, Prophethood & Salvation

📖 The Authentic Ḥadīth

Arabic Text

عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ:

«مَنْ شَهِدَ أَنْ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ، وَأَنَّ عِيسَىٰ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولُهُ، وَكَلِمَتُهُ أَلْقَاهَا إِلَىٰ مَرْيَمَ وَرُوحٌ مِنْهُ، وَالْجَنَّةَ حَقٌّ وَالنَّارَ حَقٌّ؛ أَدْخَلَهُ اللَّهُ الْجَنَّةَ عَلَىٰ مَا كَانَ مِنَ الْعَمَلِ».

وفي رواية:
«مِنْ أَيِّ أَبْوَابِ الْجَنَّةِ الثَّمَانِيَةِ شَاءَ».

🔤 Transliteration

Man shahida an lā ilāha illā Allāhu waḥdahu lā sharīka lah,
wa anna Muḥammadan ʿabduhu wa rasūluh,
wa anna ʿĪsā ʿabdu Allāhi wa rasūluh,
wa kalimatuhu alqāhā ilā Maryam wa rūḥun minhu,
wal-jannata ḥaqqun wan-nāra ḥaqqun;
adkhalahu Allāhul-jannata ʿalā mā kāna minal-ʿamal.

🌎 English Meaning

“Whoever testifies that there is no true god except Allah alone with no partner, and that Muhammad ﷺ is His servant and Messenger, and that Jesus is Allah’s servant and Messenger, and His word conveyed to Mary and a spirit from Him, and that Paradise is true and Hell is true — Allah will admit him into Paradise, whatever his deeds may be.”

And in another narration:

“…through whichever of the eight gates of Paradise he wishes.”

• Denying him

“الْجَنَّةَ حَقٌّ وَالنَّارَ حَقٌّ”
