🌙 Is the Evil Eye Real?

Yes. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ confirmed:

"The evil eye is real."
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim)

It is not superstition or culture, but a reality affirmed in Islam.

📖 Evidence from Qur’an & Sunnah

• Harm can come by envy or jealousy but only by Allah’s permission.

  “But they could not thus harm anyone except by Allah’s permission.”
  (Al-Baqarah 2:102)

• Story of the boy: When a child fell ill after being admired without saying MashaAllah, the Prophet ﷺ instructed the admirer to perform wudu, and its water was poured over the boy—by Allah’s will, he was cured.
  (Musnad Ahmad, Abu Dawud)

• The Prophet ﷺ said:

  “Most of those who die from my Ummah after the decree of Allah die because of the evil eye.”
  (al-Mu’jam al-Kabir, graded Hasan by al-Albani)

🛡️ How to Protect Yourself

1. Recite Surah Al-Falaq & Surah An-Naas daily – morning, evening, and before sleep.

   “No one has sought refuge with anything better than them.”
   (Sunan an-Nasa’i)

2. Recite Ayat al-Kursi (Al-Baqarah 2:255) after every salah and before sleeping.

   “Whoever recites it at night will remain protected, and no shaytan will approach him until morning.”
   (Sahih al-Bukhari)

3. Daily Duas

   • “I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created.”
     (Sahih Muslim)

   • The Prophet ﷺ recited over Hasan and Husain:

     “I seek refuge for you in the perfect words of Allah, from every devil, every poisonous creature, and every harmful evil eye.”
     (Sahih al-Bukhari)

4. Say MashaAllah when admiring blessings in yourself or others.

🌿 If You Are Afflicted

• Perform Ruqyah with Surah Al-Fatihah, Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, An-Naas.

• Blow into your hands and wipe over your body.

• Recite over water and drink or pour over yourself.

• Supplicate sincerely:

  “O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove the harm. Heal, for You are the Healer. There is no healing except Your healing, a healing that leaves no disease behind.”
  (Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim)
