🌿 The Greatest Purpose in Life: Knowing Allah
Alhamdulillah, all praise belongs to Allah ﷻ, and peace and blessings upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
One of the greatest blessings we have in this world is to gather upon piety, knowledge, and remembrance of Allah. These gatherings nourish our hearts and remind us of our true purpose.
✨ The True Purpose of Life
Allah ﷻ created everything — the heavens, the earth, the skies, the plants, animals, and even each one of us with unique fingerprints and souls — for a greater purpose:
So that we may know Him.
“It is Allah who created seven heavens and of the earth, the like thereof. His command descends among them, so that you may know that Allah is capable of everything, and that His knowledge encompasses all things.”
(Qur’an 65:12)
The first purpose in life is to know Allah.
The second purpose is to worship Him.
But how can we worship Allah if we do not know Him?
Ignorance of Allah leads people to neglect prayer, fall into sins, and fail to honor Him as He deserves. But when we learn His names and attributes, our hearts grow in love, gratitude, and obedience.
💡 The Biggest Problem in the World
Allah summarized the root of all problems in five words:
“They did not honor Allah as He should be honored.”
(Qur’an 6:91)
When we truly know Allah — Al-Rahman (The Most Merciful), Al-Mu’min (The Giver of Peace), Al-‘Aleem (The All-Knowing) — our hearts become strong against fear, sin, and despair.
🕌 Staying Connected with Allah
The best way to remain connected is through Dhikr (remembrance of Allah). Allah commands us:
“O you who believe! Remember Allah with much remembrance.”
(Qur’an 33:41)
To be among those who “remember Allah much,” scholars mention four essential routines:
Morning Dhikr 🌅
Evening Dhikr 🌙
After every obligatory prayer 🙏
Before sleep 🛏️
Even if you start small, commit to them. Apps and guides are available to help you memorize and understand these adhkar. With consistency, they bring peace, protection, and forgiveness.
🌸 The Reward of Dhikr
Those who remember Allah abundantly are promised:
Complete forgiveness 🌿
A mighty reward: Paradise 🕌
And the greatest dhikr? Saying:
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ
(There is no god but Allah).
It is easy on the tongue, but heavy on the scale — and whoever’s last words in this life are La ilaha illa Allah will enter Jannah.
🌟 Final Reflection
The path to true success lies in knowing Allah, honoring Him, and remembering Him daily. This transforms our prayers, keeps us away from sins, and brings contentment in a world full of anxiety.
💬 Call to Action
Reflect:
Do I truly know my Lord?
Which of Allah’s names have I connected with recently?
Can I commit today to morning and evening adhkar?
