Alhamdulillah 🌸 Let’s begin the Shahada Series – Lesson 1
🌙 Shahada Series – Lesson 1
The Testimony of Faith (Shahada)
🕌 What is the Shahada?
The Shahada means “testimony of faith”.
It is the declaration that makes someone a Muslim:
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ، مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللهِ
“There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad (ﷺ) is the Messenger of Allah.”
This is the foundation of Islam. Whoever sincerely believes and declares it, enters Islam.
📖 Qur’an Evidence
Allah ﷻ says:
“So know, [O Muhammad], that there is no deity except Allah…”
(Surah Muhammad 47:19)
“Muhammad is not but a Messenger of Allah; [other] messengers have passed on before him.”
(Surah Aal Imran 3:144)
🌟 Hadith Evidence
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Islam is built upon five pillars: testimony that there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is His Messenger, establishing prayer, giving zakah, performing Hajj, and fasting Ramadan.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari & Sahih Muslim)
🌱 Simple Explanation
The Shahada has two parts:
Oneness of Allah (Tawheed): Only Allah deserves worship — not idols, not people, not wealth, not desires.
Final Messenger: We follow Prophet Muhammad ﷺ because he is the last Messenger who showed us how to live by Allah’s guidance.
💡 Practical Understanding
The Shahada is not just words — it is a way of life.
Every prayer, every du’a, every act of kindness is rooted in this belief.
For non-Muslims, it explains clearly what Muslims believe in: One God and His final Messenger.
🤲 Reflection
Am I living by the Shahada in my daily actions, or only saying it by tongue?
How can I strengthen my faith in Allah alone?
