Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem

Allah’s mercy is vast, and He invites us to seek His riḍā (pleasure) and to protect ourselves from sakhaṭ (displeasure/anger) through sincere duʿā, repentance, and good deeds.

Below are authentic duʿās and hadith you can use in your post.

1) The Powerful Sujūd Duʿā

Arabic

اللَّهُمَّ أَعُوذُ بِرِضَاكَ مِنْ سَخَطِكَ، وَبِمُعَافَاتِكَ مِنْ عُقُوبَتِكَ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْكَ، لَا أُحْصِي ثَنَاءً عَلَيْكَ، أَنْتَ كَمَا أَثْنَيْتَ عَلَى نَفْسِكَ

Transliteration:

Allāhumma aʿūdhu biriḍāka min sakhaṭik, wa bimuʿāfātika min ʿuqūbatik, wa aʿūdhu bika minka, lā uḥṣī thanā’an ʿalayk, anta kamā athnayta ʿalā nafsik.

Meaning (English):

“O Allah, I seek refuge in Your pleasure from Your displeasure, and in Your pardon/well-being from Your punishment, and I seek refuge in You from You.

I cannot fully count Your praises; You are as You have praised Yourself.”

2) “Mercy Prevails Over Anger”

Arabic

إِنَّ رَحْمَتِي تَغْلِبُ غَضَبِي

Transliteration:

Inna raḥmatī taghlibu ghaḍabī.

Meaning (English):

“Indeed, My mercy prevails over My anger.”

3) Duʿā for Protection From Allah’s Anger (Especially When Afraid at Night)

This is a prophetic duʿā that includes seeking protection from Allah’s anger and punishment.

أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ غَضَبِهِ وَعِقَابِهِ وَشَرِّ عِبَادِهِ وَمِنْ هَمَزَاتِ الشَّيَاطِينِ وَأَنْ يَحْضُرُونِ

Transliteration:

Aʿūdhu bikalimāti-llāhi-t-tāmmāti min ghaḍabihī wa ʿiqābihī wa sharri ʿibādih, wa min hamazāti-sh-shayāṭīn wa an yaḥḍurūn.

Meaning (English):

“I seek refuge in the Perfect Words of Allah from His anger and His punishment, from the evil of His servants, and from the whisperings of the devils and from their presence.”

4) A Qur’anic Anchor Verse (Hope With Awe)

Arabic

قُلْ يَا عِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُوا عَلَىٰ أَنفُسِهِمْ لَا تَقْنَطُوا مِن رَّحْمَةِ اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًا

Meaning (English):

“Say, ‘O My servants who have wronged themselves, do not despair of Allah’s mercy. Indeed Allah forgives all sins…’”
Surah Az-Zumar (39:53)

A believer lives between hope and fear:

• We fear Allah’s displeasure by avoiding oppression, arrogance, and persistent sin.

• We hope in Allah’s mercy through repentance, prayer, and sincere duʿā.

And the Prophet ﷺ taught us a beautiful mindset in sujūd:
seek Allah’s pleasure from His displeasure, and cling to His mercy.
