Nothing Happens Except by Allah’s Decree

This morning after Fajr, some of us – myself, abang Yusuf, Imam Yakoob, Pak June, and abang Mangath – went together for breakfast after reading Qur’an and praying Duha.

On the way back, abang Mangath’s bike hit a sharp parking barrier. His leg was cut and bleeding. Alhamdulillah, after quick treatment at the clinic, he is now safe.

Some people began blaming abang Yusuf, saying this happened only because he invited us to breakfast.

But let us remind ourselves clearly: accidents, life, death, harm and benefit – all are only by Allah’s decree.

📖 What the Qur’an teaches

“No disaster strikes upon the earth or among yourselves except that it is in a register before We bring it into being – indeed that, for Allah, is easy.”
— Surah Al-Hadid 57:22

“And if Allah should touch you with adversity, none can remove it except Him; and if He intends for you good, then none can repel His bounty.”
— Surah Yunus 10:107

🌹 The Prophet ﷺ reminded us

“Know that if the whole nation were to gather to benefit you, they would not benefit you except with what Allah had already written for you. And if they gathered to harm you, they would not harm you except with what Allah had already written against you. The pens have been lifted and the pages have dried.”
— Tirmidhi, Hasan Sahih

⚠️ A Warning Against Blame

Blaming someone for another’s misfortune is dangerous. The Prophet ﷺ rejected belief in “bad luck” and omens:

“There is no evil omen, no bad luck, no life in owls, and no bad luck in Safar.”
— Bukhari & Muslim

🌷 The Right Attitude

• Abang Yusuf should be rewarded for inviting brothers to breakfast – a deed of love and unity.

• Abang Mangath’s injury is a test and purification from Allah.

• Instead of blame, we should say:
  “Qaddarallahu wa ma sha’a fa‘al”
  (It is Allah’s decree, and He does whatever He wills).✨ Reflection

My brothers and sisters, let us increase our faith in Qadr (Divine Decree). Nothing happens outside of Allah’s plan. If we accept this, we find peace in every hardship.

“Perhaps you dislike a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. But Allah knows, while you know not.”
