Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
🌿 📌 POST: Is It Allowed to Sit or Rest Like This in the Masjid?
(With Dalil & Authentic Rulings)
🍃 1. Resting With One Leg Over the Other

📖 Authentic Hadith:
Ibn ʿUmar (ra) said:
“I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reclining in the masjid with one leg over the other.”
— Sahih al-Bukhari (628), SahihMuslim (2100)
✔️ This position is allowed
✔️ The Prophet ﷺ himself did it inside the masjid
✔️ No prohibition
❌ Only not allowed if the awrah becomes exposed (Sunan an-Nasa’i)
🍃 2. Pointing the Feet Toward the Qiblah While Resting or Lying Down
📌 There is NO authentic hadith that forbids pointing your feet toward the Kaaba — whether in the masjid or at home.
✔️ Scholars confirm it is permissible
Ibn Bāz
Ibn ʿUthaymīn
Imām al-Nawawī
✔️ You may lie down, rest, read Qur’an, or sleep in this position.
Allah says:
“Those who remember Allah standing, sitting, or lying on their sides.”
— Al-Qur'an 3:191
✔️ No restriction on posture for Qur’an or dhikr.
📌 FINAL RULING (Authentic & Clear):
✔️ Resting with one leg over the other → Allowed
✔️ Pointing feet toward the Qiblah → Allowed
✔️ Reading Qur’an in these positions → Allowed
❌ No authentic hadith prohibits these actions
⭐ Recommended adab: Avoid pointing feet directly at the Mushaf or at people out of respect — but not haram.
