🌿 Guard Allah’s Limits — And He Will Guard You
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem,
A Timeless Advice on Tawḥīd, Reliance & Divine Decree
📖 The Authentic Hadith
This beautiful advice was narrated by the noble Companion:
ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿAbbās (رضي الله عنهما)
He said:

🌍 English Translation
Ibn ʿAbbās reported:
I was riding behind the Prophet ﷺ one day when he said:
“O young boy, I shall teach you some words:
Guard (the limits of) Allah and He will guard you.
Guard Allah and you will find Him before you.
When you ask, ask Allah.
When you seek help, seek help from Allah.
Know that if the whole nation were to gather to benefit you, they would not benefit you except with what Allah has already written for you.
And if they were to gather to harm you, they would not harm you except with what Allah has already written against you.
The pens have been lifted and the pages have dried.”
And in another narration:
“Know Allah in times of ease and He will know you in times of hardship.
What missed you was never meant to befall you, and what befell you was never meant to miss you.
Victory comes with patience, relief comes with hardship, and with difficulty comes ease.”
🌟 Understanding the Hadith — Simple & Powerful Lessons
1️⃣ “Guard Allah” — What Does It Mean?
It means:
Protect your prayers
Stay away from ḥarām
Obey Allah sincerely
Keep your Tawḥīd pure
When you protect your relationship with Allah, Allah protects you — your faith, heart, family, and future.
2️⃣ Pure Tawḥīd: Ask Allah Alone
The Prophet ﷺ clearly teaches:
Ask from Allah first
Depend upon Allah
Trust Allah completely
This is the heart of Tawḥīd al-ʿUbūdiyyah (Oneness in Worship).
People are only means.
The true Provider, Protector, and Controller is Allah alone.
3️⃣ Understanding Qadar (Divine Decree)
“The pens have been lifted and the pages have dried.”
Everything has already been written.
This teaches:
No one can block what Allah gives you
No one can give you what Allah did not write
Fear no creation
Put full trust in the Creator
This builds inner peace and unshakable confidence.
4️⃣ A Formula for Strength During Hardship
The Prophet ﷺ gives a powerful life formula:
Patience → Victory
Hardship → Relief
Difficulty → Ease
This aligns perfectly with the Qur’an:
“Indeed, with hardship comes ease.”
(Qur’an 94:6)
💎 Why This Hadith Is So Important
This hadith combines:
Tawḥīd
Reliance (Tawakkul)
Belief in Qadar
Patience
Spiritual resilience
Scholars say this is one of the greatest comprehensive hadiths about faith.
Imām Ibn Rajab wrote an entire explanation of it in Jāmiʿ al-ʿUlūm wal-Ḥikam.
