📖 Quran Verse

Arabic:

هُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُم مِّن تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ ثُمَّ مِنْ عَلَقَةٍ ثُمَّ يُخْرِجُكُمْ طِفْلًا ثُمَّ لِتَبْلُغُوا أَشُدَّكُمْ ثُمَّ لِتَكُونُوا شُيُوخًا ۚ وَمِنكُم مَّن يُتَوَفَّىٰ مِن قَبْلُ ۖ وَلِتَبْلُغُوا أَجَلًا مُّسَمًّى وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ

Transliteration:

Huwa alladhī khalaqakum min turābin thumma min nuṭfatin thumma min ʿalaqatin thumma yukhrijukum ṭiflan thumma litablughū ashuddakum thumma litakūnū shuyūkhan. Wa minkum man yutawaffā min qablu wa litablughū ajalan musammā wa laʿallakum taʿqilūn.

Translation:

"It is He who created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot; then He brings you out as a child; then you reach your full strength, then you become elderly. And among you are those who die before that, so that you reach a specified term. Perhaps you will use reason." (Quran 40:67)

🌿 Simple Reflection

This beautiful verse reminds us that every stage of our life is planned by Allah سبحانه وتعالى.

Our journey begins from something as humble as dust, then a tiny drop of fluid, then a clot, then a helpless baby. We grow into youth, adulthood, and old age—if Allah wills. Some people pass away as babies, some as young adults, and some live into old age.

No one chooses when to be born, how fast to grow, or when to die. Allah alone controls every stage.

This should fill our hearts with humility, gratitude, and trust in Allah.

💡 Lessons From This Verse

🌱 1. Never Be Arrogant

No matter how successful, wealthy, or powerful we become, our beginning was tiny and weak.

Allah reminds us of our origin so that we remain humble.

"Indeed, Allah does not like the arrogant." (Quran 16:23)

👶 2. Every Stage Has a Purpose

Childhood... Youth... Adulthood... Old age...

Each phase is a test.

• Childhood teaches dependence.

• Youth tests desires and strength.

• Adulthood tests responsibility.

• Old age reminds us of our return to Allah.

⏳ 3. Death Can Come at Any Time

Allah says:

"Among you are those who die before that."

Not everyone reaches old age.

This is why Islam teaches us never to delay repentance.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

"Take advantage of five before five: your youth before your old age, your health before your sickness, your wealth before your poverty, your free time before your busyness, and your life before your death."

🧠 4. Reflect and Use Your Intellect

Allah ends the verse with:

"...perhaps you will use reason."

The purpose is not merely to know how humans develop biologically.

It is to realize:

• Who created us.

• Why we were created.

• Where we are going.

A believer reflects beyond the physical process to recognize Allah's wisdom and power.

🌍 Applying This Verse Today

Today many people celebrate youth, beauty, and worldly success as if they will last forever.

This verse reminds us:

• Beauty fades.

• Strength weakens.

• Wealth disappears.

• Positions change.

But our meeting with Allah is certain.

The wise person prepares for the Hereafter while living in this world.

Ask yourself:

• 🤲 Am I grateful to Allah for every stage of my life?

• 🤲 Am I using my youth, health, and time to obey Him?

• 🤲 If Allah called me today, am I ready to meet Him?

• 🤲 Do I remember that every day brings me closer to my appointed meeting with Allah?

🌟 Final Reflection

Life is not random.

From the moment we were created until our final breath, every stage is written by Allah with perfect wisdom.

Whether we live for a few days or many decades, our success is not measured by how long we live, but by how faithfully we worship Allah during the time He gives us.

May Allah make us grateful in every stage of life, keep us steadfast upon Islam, grant us a righteous ending (ḥusn al-khātimah), and gather us among the righteous in Jannah.
