Don't Be Distracted by Temporary Success
Do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [certain] categories of the disbelievers, and do not grieve over them. And lower your wing to the believers
- Al Quran 15:88)

Simple Meaning
Allah reminds the Prophet ﷺ—and all believers—not to be distracted by the wealth, luxury, power, or temporary success that some people enjoy.
What they possess is only a test and a temporary enjoyment. The true success is not measured by worldly possessions, but by faith, righteousness, and closeness to Allah.
Allah also tells us not to be saddened because some people reject the truth. Guidance is in Allah's Hands.
Instead, believers are commanded to be humble, kind, and compassionate toward fellow Muslims.
Lessons We Can Apply
Don't compare your life with those who have more wealth or luxury.
Social media and worldly success can create envy—guard your heart.
Allah may give worldly blessings even to those who reject Him, but that does not mean He is pleased with them.
Real success is having īmān, a peaceful heart, and Allah's pleasure.
Stay humble and gentle with the believers around you.
Reflection
Ask yourself:
Am I spending more time looking at what others have than appreciating what Allah has given me?
Do I measure success by wealth, or by my relationship with Allah?
Am I humble and compassionate toward fellow believers?
A Short Du'a
O Allah, keep our hearts content with what You have provided. Protect us from envy, comparison, and the deception of this temporary world. Make us among those who seek Your pleasure above all else, and grant us humility, gratitude, and steadfast faith. Āmīn.
