Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem

Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala reminds us in Surah An-Nahl of the endless blessings He has poured upon mankind. Every moment of our lives is surrounded by His mercy, yet many turn away and deny Him.

Surah An-Nahl by Mishary Rashed Alafasy

Blessings Mentioned in These Verses:

  • Creation of the heavens and earth in truth (16:3).

  • The gift of human life from a simple drop of fluid (16:4).

  • Livestock giving warmth, food, and beauty (16:5–6).

  • Animals that carry burdens and ease travel (16:7).

  • Horses, mules, and donkeys for riding and adornment (16:8).

  • Guidance to the straight path (16:9).

  • Rain from the sky bringing drink and pasture (16:10).

  • Crops, olives, dates, grapes, and fruits for nourishment (16:11).

  • Night and day, the sun, moon, and stars made subject to us (16:12).

  • The diversity of colors in creation reminding us of His artistry (16:13).

  • The sea, providing fresh meat, ornaments, and ships for travel and trade (16:14).

  • Mountains, rivers, and pathways for stability and guidance (16:15).

  • Landmarks and stars for navigation (16:16).

🌸 Truly, Allah declares:

“And if you should count the favors of Allah, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.”

(16:18)

❓ A Question to Reflect On

When all these signs are clear before us—our food, water, families, guidance, day and night, the sun and stars—
Why then do people still turn away?
Why not accept that there is only One God worthy of worship?

Let us remember:

“Your god is One God. But those who do not believe in the Hereafter – their hearts are disapproving, and they are arrogant.”

(16:22)

💭 Takeaway for us today:

Every blessing around us is an invitation to recognize Allah, to submit to Him alone, and to live with gratitude.

👉 So reflect: Are we truly grateful? Or do we take these blessings for granted?
