Reflection from Surah Al-A‘raf (7:150–155)

🌙 Muhiba Morning Reflection – “When Anger Turns to Mercy”

When Prophet Musa عليه السلام returned from Mount Sinai, he found his people worshipping the golden calf. His heart was filled with pain and anger for how quickly they turned away after receiving so many blessings.

Out of frustration, he cast down the Tablets and seized his brother Harun by the hair, saying,

“O son of my mother! The people oppressed me and almost killed me — so do not let the enemies rejoice over me, and do not place me among the wrongdoing people.”
(Al-A‘raf 7:150)

Musa then realized his brother’s innocence and turned his anger into du‘a — a plea of forgiveness for himself, his brother, and his people:

“My Lord, forgive me and my brother, and admit us into Your mercy, for You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.”
(Al-A‘raf 7:151)

🌿 Lesson

Even prophets felt deep emotions — anger, sorrow, disappointment — but what made them beloved to Allah was how they transformed emotion into prayer.

Musa’s anger became dua, his disappointment became patience, and his leadership turned into compassion.

📖 Qur’an Reflection

“And when Musa’s anger subsided, he took up the Tablets, and in their inscription was guidance and mercy for those who fear their Lord.”
Surah Al-A‘raf (7:154)

💫 Lesson: Anger fades, but divine guidance remains — mercy follows those who fear Allah.

🕊️ Hadith Reflection

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“The strong man is not the one who defeats others in wrestling.
The strong one is he who controls himself when angry.”

🌟 Reflection Message

“Control your anger — and Allah will control your affairs.”
True strength is not power over people, but mastery over the self.

💭 Reminder

When tested by emotion, pause and make du‘a —
because every time you hold back for Allah, He raises you higher in His mercy.
