🌷 Allah Never Punishes Without Sending a Messenger

🌷 Topic: The Fate of the Parents of Rasulullah ﷺ – A View Through the Lens of Qur’an and Mercy

💔 The Question:

Many people feel deep pain when hearing claims that the parents of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ will be punished — may Allah protect us from speaking without knowledge.

Let us look at what the Qur’an and authentic understanding truly say.

📖 Quranic Principle (Al-Isra 17:15):

“And never would We punish until We sent a messenger.”
— Al-Qur’an 17:15

This verse establishes a clear rule of divine justice —
Allah does not punish any people until a messenger has been sent to them, and the message has reached them clearly.

The parents of Rasulullah ﷺ lived before his prophethood, in a time known as Ahl al-Fatrah (the period between prophets).

According to this Qur’anic principle, they cannot be held accountable for not following a message that had not yet been delivered to them.

📚 Scholars’ View:

Many scholars, including Imam al-Suyuti, Imam al-Qurtubi, and others, held that the parents of Rasulullah ﷺ will not be punished, based on Allah’s justice and mercy.
Some narrations mention that Allah revived them, they believed in him, and then they passed away again — though there are differences in authenticity, it reflects hope and divine mercy.
The majority of Ahl al-Sunnah emphasize silence and respect regarding such matters, and to avoid hurtful words about the family of the Prophet ﷺ.

🌙 Understanding with Love and Respect:

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ is Rahmatan lil ‘Alamin — a Mercy to the Worlds.
Would Allah, the Most Merciful, dishonor the lineage He chose for His Final Prophet?

Indeed, Allah’s mercy is vast, and His justice is perfect.

Let us not speak hastily about what only Allah knows.

We trust in His justice, His mercy, and His love for His Prophet ﷺ.

Say instead:

“Allah knows best. I trust in His mercy for the beloved family of the Prophet ﷺ.”
