๐ŸŒ™ Shahada Series โ€“ Lesson 2

"Deep Meaning of โ€œLa ilaha illallahโ€

๐Ÿ•Œ The Words of Shahada

ู„ูŽุง ุฅูู„ูฐู‡ูŽ ุฅูู„ูŽู‘ุง ุงู„ู„ู‡ู

โ€œThere is no god but Allah.โ€

This is the first part of the Shahada and the heart of Islam. It has two sides:

  1. Negation (ู„ุง ุฅูู„ูฐู‡ูŽ) โ†’ โ€œThere is no godโ€ (rejecting all false gods).

  2. Affirmation (ุฅูู„ูŽู‘ุง ุงู„ู„ู‡ู) โ†’ โ€œexcept Allahโ€ (accepting only Allah as the true God).

๐Ÿ“– Qurโ€™an Evidence

Allah ๏ทป says:

โ€œAnd We did not send any Messenger before you but We revealed to him that: There is no deity except Me, so worship Me.โ€
(Surah Al-Anbiya 21:25)

And He says:

โ€œSo whoever disbelieves in false gods and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handholdโ€ฆโ€
(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:256)

๐ŸŒŸ Hadith Evidence

The Prophet ๏ทบ said:

โ€œWhoever dies knowing that there is no god but Allah will enter Paradise.โ€
(Sahih Muslim, 26)

๐ŸŒฑ Simple Explanation

The meaning of La ilaha illallah is not only to say it with tongue, but to:

  • Reject worshipping idols, people, wealth, status, or desires.

  • Submit to Allah alone in prayers, obedience, and reliance.

๐Ÿ’ก Practical Understanding

  • A Muslim who lives by La ilaha illallah seeks help only from Allah, not superstitions.

  • In daily life, this means:

    • When praying โ†’ pray only to Allah.

    • When in hardship โ†’ ask Allah first.

    • When successful โ†’ thank Allah.

๐Ÿคฒ Reflection

  • Do I truly depend only on Allah, or do I put my trust in other things?

  • How can I strengthen my Tawheed (oneness of Allah) in my daily life?

โœ… Coming Next in Shahada Series (Lesson 3):
We will explain the second part of the Shahada: โ€œMuhammadur Rasulullahโ€, its meaning and importance.
